My Strange Story – a Recap of the Introduction

Hello friends,

Many of you have seen the notifications of my eight previous articles that I recently posted to my new blog site.  If you have not been following from the beginning, you are probably mystified by what you have seen thus far.  Therefore, I thought it would be good to give you a recap, so that the purpose is made clear, without any additional reading of my previous posts.  Obviously, I cannot condense all 30 minutes of reading material into this little post.  Therefore, you would like to understand more, please follow the embedded links to the other articles.

The summary of it all is this: God has blessed me with an errand to do.  He wants me to travel around the world preaching the Word of God … literally!  Not like Paul the apostle or any other great preacher of the past.  No, God is sending me on a conquest to circumnavigate the Earth via the South and the North Poles using nothing but my own human power.  Wherever I go, I am to proclaim the Word of God on this blog and by any other means of communication that will accomplish the task.

But why would God send me on such a strange errand?  Obviously, when I get to the North Pole there will not be much of an audience to preach to.  Would I not be able to preach to the same from the comfort of my own living room?

The answer to that question lies in the primary subject that I am preaching about, the love of God.  If I am preaching from the comfort of my own living room, then there is no sacrifice.  It is not an example of the true and perfect love of God.  God does not want me to simply preach about love.  He wants me to live it out in my own life in the way that I sacrifice myself to those that I love.  Yet I cannot die for the sake of the whole world.  Jesus Christ already did that nearly 2000 years ago.  I am not God, nor am I perfect.  My own death would never save anyone.  However, I can illustrate the love of Christ by my example.  In my willingness to lay down my life for my one dear friend, my sacrifice points to the awesome love of God, when God sent His only begotten son to the cross to die for the sins of the whole world.

Therefore, God shows and proves His great love to us by this impossible errand that He is sending me on:

  1. God proves His love for His servant by making the impossible task of “Solo Human-Powered Polar Circumnavigation” a possibility.
  2. By successfully completing this enterprise of polar circumnavigation, God proves His great love for the one that it was all planned for, “my dear friend!”
  3. By publicly broadcasting and showing to all of you this great miracle and His love for my dear friend, He is making it known that He loves you, also.

If you are reading this, you can know that God loves you.  When you see this miracle come to pass, you will know that God is speaking to you and that He truly does care about you.

Summary of the previous blog posts:

  1. The Lamb
Hugh Henry Snell’s pointed observation of the “Lamb of God.”

  2. What’s the Point?
An introduction to the purpose of the quest and a small taste of just how impossible it really is.

  3. The Difficulty of my Errand
A few more examples of why the errand is so impossible, and how the advanced materials and equipment designs God is providing to me will make it slightly more plausible.

  4. I am not Worthy
An explanation of my gastrointestinal disorder and the need for God to cure me before He is able to send me on this errand.  My existing disorder simply makes it all that much more impossible.

  5. A Riddle?
      A puzzling message from God.

  6. Split Personality?
Here I am simply making it known that I have a 2nd LinkedIn profile that may be of interest.

  7. What is Solo Human-Powered Polar Circumnavigation?
I give an introduction of what the term actually means.

  8. I Believe!
I discuss in more detail the complications with my gastrointestinal disorder; I address the questions about my own wife raised by the previous post “A Riddle?”; and I proclaim my belief in God, the plan that He has for me, and the belief in my dear friend.

  9. Why Singapore?
More background on my wife, important considerations for reading the Word of God, and how God led me to choose Singapore as a starting point for my journey.

“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 4:14 KJV

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

Revelation 22:17 KJV

May God richly bless you my beloved friends,
